Wattpad Appoints Lindsey Ramey as Director of Content Development and Production for Wattpad Studios
Ramey Joins Wattpad Studios on Heels of Continued International Entertainment Expansion
TORONTO - June 6, 2018 - Wattpad, the global multiplatform entertainment company for original stories, today announced the appointment of Lindsey Ramey as Director of Content Development and Production for Wattpad Studios. Ramey will join Wattpad’s content development and production team in the Los Angeles market, where she will work with local entertainment studios, producers, and writers to turn Wattpad stories into film, TV, and digital media projects.
Ramey will report to Eric Lehrman, Head of Content Development and Production at Wattpad Studios, in Los Angeles. Lehrman joined Wattpad in 2017 from NBCUniversal’s USA Network. The company’s growing presence in Los Angeles is part of its continued entertainment expansion. Wattpad Studios’ Los Angeles-based TV, film, and digital media partners include Universal Cable Productions (a division of NBCUniversal), Sony Pictures Television, AwesomenessTV, CW Seed, and others.

Ramey was previously a producing consultant for Super Deluxe overseeing the Sundance Now original series This Close and Fullscreen’s original series Magic Funhouse. Prior to Super Deluxe, Ramey served as a Vice President at both Heyday Films and Hypnotic where she oversaw development for the feature film slates.
Ramey joins Wattpad Studios in the midst of its ongoing international expansion and focus on new markets in Europe and Southeast Asia. In addition to Ramey’s hire, Wattpad recently appointed Dexter Ong as Head of Asia for Wattpad Studios and promoted Kelly Steen to Wattpad Studios’ Director of Business Development for U.S. and Europe. Ashleigh Gardner was also promoted to Deputy General Manager, Wattpad Studios, Publishing. The company plans to add 40 positions in 2018 to support its expanding international entertainment business, as well as work in Machine Learning and interactive storytelling.
