Introducing Premium Picks: Adding More Value to Paid Subscriptions with Wattpad Originals
Every day, readers from all over the world come to Wattpad to find some of the most exciting and diverse new voices in fiction. As we’ve helped democratize publishing for writers, it’s also been important to ensure Wattpad is accessible for everyone who loves incredible stories, offering both free and paid reading experiences. Since 2017, we’ve offered Wattpad Premium, an ad-free subscription option for readers who prefer to immerse themselves in their favorite stories without interruption. Along with an ad-free experience, Wattpad Premium and Premium+ subscriptions come with unlimited offline stories, bonus coins with every purchase of a Wattpad Coin pack, and exclusive profile colors and reaction stickers to make the Wattpad experience as unique as each of our readers.
Today, we’re thrilled to announce Premium Picks, a new perk that adds access to five curated Wattpad Originals every month for all subscribers. Premium Picks will include a diverse range of Wattpad stories, from established hits to rising-stars and hidden gems, all curated by our team of content experts and available at no additional cost. Webnovels from some of Wattpad’s biggest and most exciting authors will be available as Premium Picks, including Perfect Addiction author Claudia Tan, Gaslight author Rachael Rose, and Neilani Alejandrino (@sweetdreamer33) author of The Girl He Never Noticed.
New Premium Picks will become available to subscribers for free on the first day of each month. When a new Premium Picks list is added, the previous month’s subscriber selection of free stories will expire, but remain available for purchase with Wattpad Coins. To help readers make the most of their subscription, we’ve added a countdown timer to the Premium Picks homescreen so they always know how much time they have left to finish the latest batch of hand-picked stories. Readers can also turn on Notifications in the Wattpad app to be alerted when new Premium Picks are available.
In addition to the five curated Wattpad Originals included in all Premium subscriptions, Premium+ subscribers will also be able to access two additional Wattpad Originals of their choosing. As an extra perk, Premium+ subscribers will have ongoing access to any Wattpad Originals unlocked with their subscription. Readers will be able to revisit and reread these titles as long as they remain part of the Wattpad Originals program.
