Wattpad Crowns 2024 Watty Awards Winners
Celebrating its 15th year, the international writing competition features winning stories in English, Filipino and Spanish
TORONTO - December 6, 2023 - Wattpad, a leading global webnovel platform and storytelling community from WEBTOON Entertainment Inc., today announced the 2024 Watty Award winners, honoring over 30 stories in multiple genres across English, Filipino, and Spanish.
This year, four talented writers were recognized with the Watty’s Grand Prize, each receiving a cash prize of USD $5,000. Selected among thousands of submissions, the Watty’s Grand Prize winners stood out for exceptional storytelling and craft:
@ccstarfield’s Love at First Tracks, follows two professional female skiers trying to reignite their passion for the sport ahead of the next Winter Olympics, but instead find an inconvenient attraction to each other.
@howtosellmysoul‘s Behind the Limelight, is a story about an actor forced to take a career-changing role alongside his rival. As production starts, their competition heats up but the pair quickly realize they have more in common than they thought.
@Mandie_Lee’s Filipino language story Charmed Too Deep, explores the resilience of true love, even when a love potion mixup threatens to get in the way of two soulmates.
@AsCe010’s comedic Manual contra amores inmortales follows an antique shop owner that finds herself making a deal with a being from another world.
Prizes were also awarded to recognize extraordinary writing including Biggest Twist, given to @KatWynter for Of Blood and Roses; Catchiest Hook, going to @BookNrd for The Hollywood Homecoming; Most Engaging World, to @naa_torsh for Her Witch, Her Demon; and Best Characters, awarded to @ironjesterr for Below the Belt.
All Watty Awards winners will receive a Watty’s Badge for their winning story, promotion on the official Wattys profile on Wattpad, priority consideration for series, film, and publishing opportunities by Wattpad WEBTOON Studios and more.

Since 2009, the Watty Awards have served as a launchpad for new voices in fiction, with many winners achieving success online, on screens, and on bookshelves around the globe.
