The new “Share on Snapchat” button on Wattpad allows users to easily share what they’re reading with friends on Snapchat

Wattpad and WEBTOON today announced that the companies will merge their studio divisions to create Wattpad WEBTOON Studios. Leveraging the passionate global fandoms from WEBTOON and Wattpad’s combined audience of more than 166 million people, Wattpad WEBTOON Studios will create the world’s most innovative multi-format studio making global fan and data-driven TV shows, films, and books.

After taking the publishing world by storm with some of the most exciting titles in YA, Wattpad Books today announced “W by Wattpad Books,” a new adult imprint to bring more internationally beloved Wattpad stories to bookshelves.

Naver has completed its acquisition of Wattpad in a cash and stock transaction valued at more than an estimated USD $600 million.

Wattpad is celebrating two years of the Wattpad Paid Stories program, where indie authors have earned more than a million dollars! The milestone highlights Wattpad’s continued commitment to helping authors succeed with new ways to make money on the platform.

The acquisition will align Wattpad and WEBTOON™, two leading comics, entertainment, and storytelling companies, with a combined global monthly audience of 160M people. 

I wish I had written a blog post like the one you’re about to read when Ivan and I first started Wattpad 10 years ago. Although we shared our plan numerous times in bits and pieces, it was scattered across the internet, and very few people outside of the company had the complete picture.
